Summer: Camps & Challenges

Summer Camps

Summer at Innovate Academy extends the joyful, hands-on spirit of our Classical, Christian, and Collaborative model into an environment of creativity, discovery, and rest. Rather than simply “filling time,” our camps and challenges help scholars develop curiosity, virtue, and confidence through meaningful experiences that awaken imagination.

We design our summer offerings around Scholé—learning that is restful, rich, and delight-driven—allowing students to explore their God-given gifts at a slower, more playful pace.

A Glimpse into Summers’ Past

Each year brings a new lineup—here’s what our scholars have previously enjoyed:

  • Arts & Crafts Camps:

    • Playful weeks of painting, sculpting, crafting, and mixed media projects designed to spark creativity and imagination.

  • Sports Camps:

    • Skill-building, teamwork, and joyful competition guided by experienced coaches and mentors.

  • Theater & Storytelling Camps:

    • Scholars develop acting skills, build sets, rehearse scripts, and bring classic stories to life on stage.

  • Worship Arts Intensives:

    • Tracks in vocals, keys, guitar, drums, and bass—culminating in a student-led worship night.

  • Gardening & Nature Exploration Camps:

    • Outdoor adventures that blend plant science, stewardship, and playful discovery.

  • STEM & Robotics Weeks:

    • Hands-on engineering challenges, coding missions, and problem-solving tasks.

Summer Challenges

With a slower summer pace, families have a unique opportunity to cultivate habits that support wellbeing and academic confidence. Innovate Academy’s Summer Challenges give scholars meaningful (and fun) ways to keep their minds active and their hearts inspired.

Innovate Academy desires to develop good readers. This requires direction, discipline, and diligence. Summer is a leisurely time when children can feel inspired to read. We have created a mandatory summer reading assignment for our scholars in first through ninth grade. It is optional for incoming pre-Kindergarten and kindergarten scholars. We hope you will take this assignment and saturate your family with books that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

We invite you to commit to our other two challenges, math and screen-free, to help your child engage with learning while on break–and to have fun doing it! Each challenge is different with unique incentives redeemable when we return to school in September.

Please note that the summer reading and log are mandatory for all returning and incoming scholars and need to be brought back the first day of school. The math and screen-free challenges are optional, but we hope all of our scholars participate this summer!

Reading Assignment

At Innovate, we believe strong readers are shaped through direction, discipline, and delight. Summer provides the perfect window to soak in books that are: true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

Reading logs must be submitted on the first day of school.
