Primary School (PreK-Kindergarten)
A Joyful Beginning to a Lifetime of Learning
Our Primary School offers a gentle, imaginative introduction to school life where young scholars are nurtured through play, stories, music, movement, and hands-on exploration. In a calm, joyful environment, children build early literacy and numeracy foundations while developing curiosity, confidence, and a sense of wonder. Through simple daily rhythms, early spiritual formation, and plenty of outdoor time, our youngest learners discover that school is a safe and exciting place to grow in community.
-
Learning is rooted in living ideas and purposeful independence. Scholars engage with rich texts, narrate their learning aloud or in writing, choose meaningful work cycles, and take increasing ownership of their time, materials, and mastery—guided by attentive mentors rather than lectures
-
Daily rhythm includes singing, rhythm exercises, dances, and movement-based learning to support memory, coordination, and joy. Music and motion are integrated across subjects to reinforce learning and support whole-child development.
-
Scholars learn by doing—building geometric models, creating art projects, and working on group experiments. Abstract concepts become tangible through carefully chosen materials that encourage focus, creativity, and problem-solving.

Lower School (1st-6th Grade)
Building Strong Foundations in Mind, Body, and Spirit
Lower School is where scholars begin to flourish academically and experience the joy of learning. Through the Grammar Stage, scholars delight in chants, songs, stories, and memory work that build a rich foundation of knowledge across every subject. Our mentors cultivate strong habits—attention, perseverance, kindness, and responsibility —while nurturing spiritual and emotional wellness. Lower School scholars feel known, supported, and inspired as they grow in confidence and character.
-
Scholars practice intentional memorization of poetry, Scripture, historical timelines, facts, and musical pieces—strengthening attention, recall, and confidence while building a shared cultural literacy.
-
History, literature, science, theology, and the arts are taught together, not in isolation, over a timeline (four cycles of history). Scholars read the Great Books, primary sources, and classic works, making connections across disciplines through discussion, writing, projects, and creative responses.
-
Foundational skills are honored. Scholars study Latin to sharpen logic and language, practice cursive for fine motor development and cognitive flow, and engage deeply in visual art, music, and theatre as essential—not extracurricular—forms of learning.

Upper School (7th-9th Grade)
Purpose, Leadership, and Real-World Readiness
By Upper School, scholars begin to explore their unique path to success. In the Logic Stage, scholars learn to ask meaningful questions, analyze ideas deeply, and engage in thoughtful Socratic dialogue. They create hands-on projects and presentations, grow as leaders, and deepen their understanding of themselves and others. In the Rhetoric Stage, scholars learn to communicate clearly and convincingly through research, writing, and public speaking. Real-world opportunities such as service learning, internships, and advanced electives help scholars connect their studies to meaningful college or career pathways.
Our 9th grade scholars also participate in our bespoke iLAB Coursework, which follows design-thinking principles & stages, enabling them to eventually produce a Culture-Maker Capstone and present it to the community.
-
Upper School scholars step beyond the classroom to learn from professionals in the field—through internships, mentorships, and shadowing experiences that connect academic learning to vocation, character, and real-world responsibility.
-
Classes emphasize thoughtful dialogue. Scholars learn to ask good questions, listen charitably, defend ideas with evidence, and engage differing perspectives through guided Socratic seminars and formal debate.
-
By 9th grade, scholars choose their own path to success. Mornings are dedicated to classical academics in the humanities with peers, followed by a curated program based on the scholar’s personal goals and interests (with input from parents and through guidance by Innovate’s Life Architect Mentor).
Late mornings and afternoons are tailored to a wide range of options–including onsite, online, or offsite courses (with dual enrollment options); offsite training at a technical school; athletics in your public school district; and/or internships.
-
Our 9th grade scholars are dedicated to innovation, creation, and synthesis. In iLab, scholars pursue passion-driven projects, research real-world problems, prototype solutions, and begin multi-year capstone work that demonstrates mastery, creativity, and purpose.
