Our Distinctive Traditions
At Innovate Academy, we cultivate habits, celebrations, and shared experiences that inspire scholars to love what is True, Good, and Beautiful. From daily practices like Matins and Evensong to seasonal celebrations, service days, field trips, and collective traditions, each rhythm shapes our affections, strengthens the community, and brings joyful meaning to the school throughout the year.
Matins & Evensong
Scholars anchor each day with prayer, song, liturgy, and reflection. Bi-monthly chapel services feature local pastors, artists, entrepreneurs, and leaders who encourage scholars to think deeply and live purposefully. Scholars regularly present original songs, drama, film, and art. Monthly chapels also explore holiday themes or Socratic discussion topics. Guest speakers from diverse fields share stories of faith, courage, creativity, and mission—from boxers to monks, CEOs, artists, dancers, musicians, and more.
ServeFirst
Scholars and parents partner to design service projects rooted in the year’s studies. Older House scholars help plan events, tying classroom learning into real-world impact.
Around the Table
This event is our signature monthly club for parents where we discuss engaging books, art, and ideas to help families form culture-making scholars. Parents gather for thoughtful conversation over light refreshments and appetizers in our in-house café, creating a relaxed space to connect, reflect, and learn together.

House Initiation Day
A spirited kickoff where scholars join their Houses through friendly competitions, music, and a meaningful induction ceremony that welcomes each new scholar with affirmation and enthusiasm.

Fall Festival
Whether it’s mimicking Greek Olympics games, Medieval tournaments, or a Modern space race, this festival is a community favorite that celebrates the time-period in our history cycle through costumes, themed activities, hayrides, food, and family fun.

Winter & Spring Showcases
Our showcases are beloved productions where scholars retell stories from history or literature through acting, singing, costumes, and stagecraft—connecting timeless narratives to goodness, beauty, and truth for the community to enjoy.

Gingerbread House Competition
This is one of Innovate’s favorite annual events, where the four houses compete to create the best gingerbread house. Houses are judged on the largest, the tastiest, the most colorful, the best use of ingredients, or the best use of technology. Older House scholars help to lead the younger grades as well as create their own.

Spirit Week
Spirit week is filled with fun, creative activities such as Wacky Wednesday, where scholars dress mismatched from head to toe, or Book Character Thursday, where scholars dress up in a favorite character from a favorite story. There is a special emphasis on our gifts and being led by the Holy Spirit as well.

Daddy Daughter Dance
Knowing how important a father’s influence is on his daughter’s life, we love an excuse to bring the dads out to celebrate with their daughters. Any female scholar whose dad is not available may take another male relative who is present in their lives, and this becomes a memorable event for all.

Mother Son Tea
Moms and their sons have a special bond, and we love honoring this relationship around a fun event. Although a ‘tea’ may sound feminine to some, this event has been themed around stories such as Star Wars, so don’t judge a book by its cover!
