Frequently Asked Questions

  • Classical: Our scholars learn through a classical approach based on three tried and true stages of development called the Trivium, Socratic questioning and the integration of subjects around the power of Story. They also study traditional subjects such as Latin and cursive writing.

Christian: We are distinctively Christian and endeavor to model our lifestyle after Jesus. We adhere to the Apostles Creed that was one for all delivered to the saints, and celebrate every expression of Christianity historically. We believe in spiritual practices that bring wellness of mind, body and spirit to every scholar.

Collaborative: Our scholars enjoy learning around diverse, multi-age peers, parent and community leaders as they connect academics to local and global community partnerships.

Culture Makers: For Upper School (6th - 8th grades), scholars design and execute service projects each trimester in teams, while growing in entrepreneurial skills around their unique gifts and passions. Service focuses primarily on Storytelling or Farm-to-Table Entrepreneurship. Storytelling includes visual arts, film or performing arts and Farm-to-Table skills include gardening, cooking and demonstrating hospitality to our community around food. For Primary and Lower School grades, parents participate with their children in service learning projects typically on Fridays.

Hands On Learning: We believe innovation and hands-on learning are imperative to today’s education and make learning come alive. We teach STEAM and coding to every scholar, as it is the fastest growing language on the planet.

  • We have a schoolwide peanut-free policy in order to maintain a safe, supportive environment for scholars and faculty. As peanuts are the most common allergy, please connect directly with your child's mentor if they have severe or additional allergies so we can accommodate as needed.

At Innovate Academy, we value health and wellness, so please keep this in mind when packing lunches, as your scholars will be learning about nutrition, a balanced diet, etc. Parents are welcome to send an easy to eat snack for mid morning. Water is the only beverage allowed to accompany snacks in the classroom.

  • All scholars in all grades–Pre-K through 8th–are required to have a daily uniform as well as a PE/gym uniform.

At Innovate Academy, our expectation is that parents will help their students comply with these rules and will support the faculty and administration when infractions are brought to their attention. Students should assume the responsibility to be in dress code throughout the academic day.
