About Innovate Academy
Innovate Academy is a unique learning community whereby like-minded parents, mentors, and local leaders are committed to the spiritual formation of scholars through a collaborative model of education, that combines onsite, at home, and service to community learning.
Our mission is to engage the whole child through a head, heart, and hands approach to learning in order to shape thoughtful and passionate leaders of culture in a classical and Christian environment.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Thursday (8:30 am to 3:30 pm) are our four days on campus in Chadds Ford. Fridays are work days at home, field trip days, or field work and service days for upper school students exploring careers. We provide a full, five-day curriculum for all our scholars.
Spiritual Leadership
Exhibits spiritual maturity, serving as a Christian role model both in and out of school
Adheres to the Apostle’s Creed, consistent with our interdenominational school philosophy
Sets an example for scholars, parents and fellow faculty members in speech, actions, attitude and judgment, by living in obedience to God’s Word and demonstrating a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ
Instructional
Integrates biblical truths and the Innovate Academy philosophy throughout the curriculum.
Integrates subjects to facilitate a holistic educational experience.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and passion for the subject(s) taught.
Uses clear language and vocabulary appropriate to the level of the scholars.
Explains and connects the unfamiliar with what is familiar to the scholars.
Uses effective teaching techniques that stimulate and arouse the scholar’s interest.
Does not presume the scholars previous understanding of new terms and concepts
Frequently reviews and fosters the application of all learning material.
Uses and applies the classical approach to any subject and grade level being taught.
Creates clear curriculum goals and provides lessons in order to achieve them
Prepares and submits weekly lesson for the administrator’s review.
Assigns a proper amount of homework effective for drill, review, enrichment, or project work.
Assesses the learning of scholars regularly, using a variety of assessment tools.
Promptly grades and provides constructive feedback on assignments.
Guides the class to Christ and/or biblical truth.
Knows the needs, interests and learning characteristics of each scholar.
Organizational
Maintains a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom.
Cooperates with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and guidelines governing the operation of the school.
Maintains regular and accurate attendance and grade records for a comprehensive understanding of each student’s progress.
Keeps scholars, parents, and the administration adequately informed of any deficiencies and provides suggestions for improvement.
