Innovate Students and Home Schoolers are welcome to join a club!

Our after school club program offers fun, collaborative environments for exploring passions beyond the school day. Students grow in a variety of skills like communication, virtues and leadership as they work with peers and mentors in areas of music, theater arts, film, STEM, gardening, sports, and more. We offer new options each season.

MONDAY

Sewing – Club meets all school year (ends May 20th, 2024)

This popular crafty club is back with more simple sewing projects and basic techniques that become more advanced with time. Projects in past club sessions included small tote bags, pillows, scrunchies and more.

Sewing Club is full and will open registrations September 2024.


Creative Delights Cooking Club

OPEN TO: 3rd - 8th Grade
START DATE:

COST: $55

Scholars will be taught by one of our Innovate Mentors, Dana Falcone, who cooked in restaurants for years before she found her love of teaching kids. She is excited to bring these two passions together!

The scholars will learn different cooking skills, they will have a chance to create something for an outreach, they will learn how to prep a meal that they will ultimately cook for their families, and there also might be a friendly competition where they will have to create something from random ingredients as a team. The cost covers food and supplies.


Games Club


OPEN TO: 5th - 8th Grade
START DATE:  Monday, January 29, 2024 - last meeting date will be April 29, 2024.
LEADERS: Adler Roberts, Heather McEneaney
PICK-UP TIME: 5:00pm

COST: $25 - to cover the cost of some of the games and snacks which will be provided at some of the later game clubs.

Mr. Adler Roberts and Mrs. Heather McEneaney will be leading a Game Club. Scholars will be spending time exploring puzzles, board games, and physical games on Mondays from 3:45-5pm. Some of the games in the lineup include chess, ticket-to-ride, dutch blitz and more. As the weather warms, scholars will get outside and participate in some physical games like ultimate frisbee, tag or more.  Depending on the dynamic of the group, scholars may learn more complicated games such as Settlers of Catan, Risk, or Lord of the Rings - Adventures in Middle Earth. This club will serve as a great supplementation to the upper school semester iBlocks project of designing an escape room which relies heavily on game design and puzzles. Regardless, we plan on having a lot of fun as scholars grow in their understanding of healthy competition and team based cooperation. 

Soccer Shots

OPEN TO: Pre-K - 3rd Grade
START DATE:  Monday, April 8, 2024 - last meeting date will be May 20, 2024.

COST: $139 for the 7 week Spring Session

Soccer Shots, the premier introductory soccer program in the country which teaches children soccer and character development through its innovative curriculum and imaginative games, is returning this Spring.

The Muses is the place for creative artists to choose a track – Theater Arts or Music Band – to prepare worship experiences and themed showcases that combine vocals, instruments, and acting to tell powerful stories from history and classic literature. The Muses club will share what they've learned at the Spring Showcase in May.

We are so excited to announce our Spring Showcase this year, "The Wizard of Oz". We will be bringing an abridged version of this classic tale by L. Frank Baum to the stage, along with music from the motion picture, "The Wiz" and "Wicked".

For scholars to be considered for a lead musical role, they MUST sign up for both tracks and be able to attend rehearsals after school on Tuesdays AND Thursdays.

Meet the Masters Art

OPEN TO: Kindergarten - 8th Grade

COST: $210 for 1st student; $189 for each additional student

Michelle's Art Pad will be back again in the Spring to teach the students about more artists!  This 10 week session will cover art from Japan, recreating the famous "The Great Wave" by Hokusai; artists Richard Hoed, J.E.H. MacDonald and Barbel Smith from Canada; we will revisit Paul Klee and Paul Cezanne with new projects not done before as well as create beautiful Mountain Value Landscapes.  We will use watercolors, chalk pastels, oil pastels and tempera paints to create our projects.  Your child doesn't need anything, other than a good attitude and a desire to create art.  Each week in addition to the project, I'll teach the students 3 facts about the artist, and will review the facts each week allowing students to earn points.  At the end of the 10 week session students will be able to choose a gift from Michelle's Art Pad from art related prizes.  They will also be given a new watercolor set at the beginning of the session for them to use and then take home at the end of club
s and visual styles made famous by these artists.

Joyful Beats Dance Club

OPEN TO: PreK - 2nd Grade

Our 3rd Grade Mentor, Ms. Michele Cotumaccio, will lead scholars in dancing skills, and creative expression through movement. Michele has been dancing since she was 3 years old, and is so excited to inspire young dancers at our school! Students will need to have grippy socks or dance slippers.

 

Spring Gardening

OPEN TO: 1st - 8th Grade

Get your hands dirty and work in our school garden! The tasks are fun, quick and easy. Scholars learn about freezing, thawing and sowing seeds for organic gardening; prepare and plant in our outdoor garden; and explore farm-to-table topics with the harvest.


WEDNESDAY

Culture Makers Girls

OPEN TO: 3rd - 6th Grade

This club encourages scholars to live out our school mission, "Every Child a Culture Maker." Scholars create good for others by developing skills in service learning projects, community outreach, and studying through God’s word.  Miss Madison Caspersen will lead scholars in a Bible study and lead service learning projects.

Basketball

We will be playing in the basketball court in parking lot of the school. Pick up will be outside at the basketball court as well.

In basketball club, we will be learning everything there is to know about basketball. We will cover passing, dribbling, lay-ups, shooting, defense, the rules of the game, and more! We will also be incorporating our skills into a game! The goal is to eventually form our own team at Innovate!

STEMunchkins

OPEN TO: 4-6 yrs old****

S2STEM's mission is to help kids discover the exciting opportunities that STEM provides in building a successful future, Through the tenets of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), their programs help children of all ages learn how to solve real-world problems in a fun, engaging way. The certified and experienced instructors meet each student where they are, encouraging and engaging them through exploration, creation, problem-solving, teamwork, and of course, fun! In addition to teaching children, the students will also be inspired to be tomorrow's leaders and game-changers.

Model Railroading Club

COST: This is a year-long program costing $30.

If your child loves to play and build, this STEM-focused club is for them! Mentor Keith Smythman will build model railroads of all scales and complexities. Scholars will gain imagination, team-building, wiring, and art skills. This is a great opportunity for any scholar interested in engineering and building. Mr. Keith Smithyman thoroughly enjoys sharing his model train hobby with the children at Innovate and hopes through this club will foster a love of ‘imagineering’ while participating in screen-free, hands-on, activities.
