Keith Smithyman

STEM Mentor

Just as Jesus saw fit to practice what we call the ‘Common Arts’, concurrently with earthly ministry, Keith aspires to do the same and encourage Innovate scholars to model their lives in such fashion. He has been a project guy since childhood, messing in the basement with chemistry sets and model railroads. His more recent projects at Innovate were chiefly crafted by 5th grade scholars who did stage design and built sets for Innovate Showcases.

Keith’s undergraduate Biology degree was conferred by the University of Delaware. His career involved equal parts of local government service and work in the private sector, chiefly in the environmental arena. Keith founded an environmental consulting firm called MicroLife Management, which still serves a few clients to this day. Over one decade with a Civil Engineer firm, Keith earned his Masters degree in Engineering Management.

Keith resides in the same Kennett Square home he and wife Ann acquired in 1978. They raised their three daughters there, and they now enjoy the fruit of their labor in spoiling eleven grandchildren.
