Helen Ruan

Mentor Assistant

Helen graduated from a Chinese University with a BA in Economics and Information Management, and worked as a journalist in the Wuhan Academy of Social Sciences before coming to the United States over thirty years ago.

She completed graduate studies in Delaware to become a certified teacher of Chinese Culture in 2011. Her love for children and child development has come to life in various leadership positions as a Chinese Language and Arts teacher at schools and churches.

Helen enjoys sharing her vibrant, personal faith in Jesus with our Innovate community, drawing from her own story of perseverance and trial. After the devastating loss of her only child Kevin twenty years ago, she considers her belief in God’s goodness and faithfulness to be at the center of all she does. One of Helen’s favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
